“I sang blues for a long time even though I always loved R&B/Soul Music. My fans kept asking me for a song similar to something Ledisi, Fantasia, or Anthony Hamilton would do since I gained a lot of popularity covering their music. This particular one, “First Love,” means a lot, and it is absolutely dedicated to them [her fans].”
The song was released on June 11, 2019. It is a special song that commemorates the birthday of the tremendously gifted songstress, which happens to be the same day the song was released.
